Accessible Information Model by Integrating GIS and BIM

Presenter : Anuradha Jayakody

Type:  Oral

Building Information Model is a technology platform upon which professional from AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry could work and share data collaboratively and efficiently  And GIS ( geographic information system) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographically referenced data. Many researchers have been carried out to different aspects of BIM and GIS. But still there is no system would be creating in the integration of BIM and GIS.

The system proposing is an integration of BIM and GIS using the development Of a CityGML extension called GeoBIM to get semantic IFC data. Into a GIS context. The conversion of IFC to CityGML (including the GeoBIM extension) is implemented in the open source Building Information Model server.
