Paper submission and information to the authors

The GIS-IDEAS 2004 Proceedings will be published available at the symposium. The Organizing Committee is trying to ensure that selected papers are published in a special issue of a scientific journal (Journal is yet to be decided) after peer review. Camera-ready manuscript can be submitted from the conference web-site through the abstracts and Paper Submission page before 31 July 2004. After this date it will not be possible to include the paper in the GIS-IDEAS 2004 Proceedings.
Authors whose abstracts have been accepted can access the using the Username and and password assigned for each submssion.

  • Maxmum length of your camera-ready manuscript: 6 pages (in English, one-sided).
  • Do not use any page numbering.
Papers must be formatted according to one of the following templates and uploaded as PDF (Portable Document Format) file:  Authors unable to produce a PDF file are allowed to send the original file in one of the above format email it as an attachment to JVGC Office . The Editorial Committee will take care of the conversion to PDF. In case you have any questions regarding submission, please contact the GIS-IDEAS 2004 Secretariat

If you have difficulties uploading your paper form the conference web-site, email it as an attachment to JVGC Office.

If Your Paper Uses Figures (diagrams, pictures, etc.)
To ensure that your paper's figures are accurately represented online, the paper needs to be saved as a PDF file before uploading. Please follow the author guidelines strictly Prior to saving your paper as a PDF file, it should look exactly as you would like it viewed, with tables and figures placed where they should appear within the text, and allowing for page breaks if the paper is printed. 


Oral presentations

20 minutes will be available for each oral presentation, including the time for discussion. The conference room will be equipped with an overhead and LCD projectors. Authors are required to contact their session chairman before the beginning of the session.

Posters

A 100x160 cm (WxH) space will be available at the conference for each poster. Posters should be on display by the first conference day (16 September 2004). Each author may be requested to give a short oral presentation (about 3 minutes) of the poster.

2. Additional Options

The authors retain the copyright for the papers posted here, having granted permission for their use only on this conference site. While the papers will otherwise remain available through this site, authors still have the right to publish their papers elsewhere (unless expressly forbidden by the publisher).
